Nafees Ahmad is an associate professor at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He holds a PhD in international refugee law and human rights. His research covers refugee protection, climate-related mobility, environmental displacement and waste governance, supported by institutions such as the Indian Council of Social Science Research and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute. He works through interdisciplinary, rights-based approaches to forced migration and environmental governance. Nafees publishes on international refugee law, minority rights, environmental law and humanitarian law. He is the author of Climate Refugees in South Asia, Legal Aspects of Business: Cases for Classroom Instructions and editor of Climate-Related Human Mobility in Asia and the Pacific. He also writes regularly for international platforms on human rights, diplomacy and international relations.
